Hopkins Elementary second graders enjoy learning to swim each year, thanks to a partnership with SwimRVA and the YMCA of Greater Richmond. Free lessons during the school day help students build swimming skills, confidence and community.
Multiple schools throughout the region, including almost two dozen in Chesterfield County, participate in the Drownproof Richmond initiative that promotes water safety and aquatic fitness.
